Brooklyn-based indie band Kind Monitor is "pained, wobbly, and adorable". The band's name comes from a song written by lead singer Joshua Guthals in San Francisco during a particularly dismal spring, referring to an unseen being that means well but never quite comes through. The sparrow, a ubiquitous, but virtually helpless, song bird, and some 'wobby' typography struck a chord with the band and its followers.
